Scriptorium de Toulouse from 1997 to 1999, along with a personal training with various calligraphers and painters, in France and abroad, from 1995 to 2002. Professional start as a self-employed artist (painter and calligrapher) in 1999. Since 2000 I have been creating postcards and calendars for the Editions des Correspondances and since 2004, visual advertisements for design or decoration brands, simultaneously to my artistic activities and my exhibitions. Approach: My work is based on colouring, marking and writing. The text, which is calligraphed in a contemporary way, plays an important part: literary texts or personal writings, it is the soul of the painting, its common thread. Calligraphy brings it to life on an aesthetic point of view, as it adds strength and expressiveness. Readable or Unreadable, it becomes rhythm and shapes combining themselves to colour and plays of transparency. On occasion the handwriting is missing, as it lets vegetal prints and colour fill the space. A window then opens on imaginary landscapes, brief recollections of a known world, of a lost paradise I try to find again. The tone is at times nostalgic, always happy and light-hearted since that is how I go through my life.
